WAKAPEDIA vs SHOOTING : 1st BIRTHDAY SHOOTING IN PARIS

10888836_923853154293736_9107163108061368216_nBelieve it or not, November 14th marks the 1st anniversary of the establishment of Wakapedia. To mark a year of hard work and interesting projects that built this fun year, we held a party at a secret location in Paris. Perhaps being a birthday of sorts, you may expect a cake with candles, but Wakapedia isn’t one to follow the way things are supposed to be done! Instead we got all the members together (except for BJ Fox, who was either too busy or on another continent at the time) and held a unique photo-shoot, with the wonderful people at JC de CASTELBAJAC providing the incredible wardrobe!

THE THEM OF THE SHOOT…PRETTY OBVIOUS FROM THE PICTURES WE THINK

The Last Supper, a unique moment captured by the Italian grand master Leonardo Da Vinci, that enthralls the world even today. The theme chosen for the shoot was not actually The Last Supper, but The Lost Supper, drawing on the Wakapedia’s team, made up of a variety of different backgrounds, but with strong ties to Italy. A perfect theme that sums up the diversity, creativity and humour of Wakapedia!

KEYWORDS FOR THIS YEAR: MILAN AND FOOD

10906924_923888544290197_1928901938_oThis year we focused on Milan and Cuisine, two overarching themes for us. Milan is the heart and soul of Wakapedia, the place where the team came together despite hailing from such diverse backgrounds as Japan, the UK and, of course, Italy itself. And, in 2015, for the first time since 1906, some 109 years ago, Milan has been chosen to host the World Expo! The Wakapedia team is thrilled that such a world event, that comes along only twice a decade, is being held in a place so close to our hearts. Bring on Expo Milano 2015!

The theme of Expo Milano 2015 is food, and this very same topic, which holds such a critical role in our everyday lives, is a topic frequently visited throughout the Wakapedia interviews. The Last Supper, a masterpiece highlighting one of the most famous meals, is Milan’s one and only internationally recognized pieces of World Heritage and a true symbol of the city. So not only does The Lost Supper sum up our deep connections to Milan, to food, to Da Vinci’s masterpiece itself, it also symbolizes our excitement and anticipation for the World Expo to be held in Milan.

And as we move into a new year, with new projects and new beginnings, we want to hold up our 1-year anniversary celebrations as a moment of thanks to all our readers and supporters. Please keep on supporting us through 2015!
